About the Trade and Company Register

The Registre de Commerce et des Sociétés (RCS) is the Luxembourg trade and company register, managed by Luxembourg Business Registers (LBR), an economic interest grouping acting under the authority of the Ministry of Justice.

Every merchant, commercial company, branch, non-profit association and foundation established in Luxembourg is registered in the RCS and receives a registration number consisting of a letter and digits, such as B123456.

Which information this service delivers

Only data that the connected sources actually return is offered — nothing more:

  • Legal name, LEI, RCS registration number, legal form and jurisdiction
  • Registered office address (street, postal code, city, country)
  • Entity status, registration status and last verification date
  • Other and previous names of the entity

Since the application of the data minimisation principle, certain personal data of natural persons (date and place of birth, private address, nationality) are no longer available for consultation.

How we retrieve the data

Each request submitted here triggers a live call to the LBR consultation service at lbr.lu. Nothing is stored as an independent register copy, so the data you receive reflects the state of the official register at the moment of the request. The register applies an anti-automation challenge to its consultation service; when it blocks an automated retrieval, the request is completed by an operator and the register's own response is shown to you unchanged.
